You can make a difference in the life of a pet by volunteering with Best Friends of Pets. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to volunteer without a parent or guardian present unless noted below. Volunteers at least 10 years old may volunteer with a parent or guardian present.
Spay/Neuter Assistance Program
Help pets and their owners (and reduce pet overpopulation) from the comfort of your home. Check requests for our spay/neuter applications and mail out SNAP packets. Return calls as needed. Must be at least 21 years old to volunteer.
Are you a stickler for good writing and want to help pets? Help raise much needed funds by helping with our grant applications.
Staff a table at community events. Provide information about Best Friends of Pets and our programs. Engrave pet ID tags when we take our tag engraver to events.
Marketing / PR
Use your expertise to help pets. Design fliers, brochures or ads for our programs and events. Write press releases and newsletter articles. Help share program information and event details on media websites.
Office / Clerical
Data entry is as important as our hands-on programs with pets and has reunited lost pets with their owners. Enter information on pets that are spayed/neutered, vaccinated or microchipped. Engrave pet ID tags at our office.
We can’t say enough how important good photos are! Take photos at SpayWay, adoption outreaches or special events. Photos are used in our pet online profiles, Facebook, newsletters and more.
From fundraising events like Tails on the Trail to being involved with new events reaching our community and pets, volunteers are important to making our events a success. Whether checking in runners, handling pets, organizing and planning, or helping where needed, feel good knowing you are making a difference for pets.
